I have not tried to take apart a Sirus or Tempest but I would like to consider making some carbon fiber slabs to replace the alum. but I'm worried that I could never get it back together again.

So any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks gw

Flat, been there and done that. I bought an used Tempest on the bay and it was used. I was trying to clean it out to make it open better and got the screws too loose and heard the spring let go. I was at work so I went to the other knife nut and told him what happened and we took it apart. We were suprised on how many pieces it has and there are two springs not one. After a good cleaning and two tries we got it back together. I think it is a three hand operation so two people are required. I didn't take pictures so no help there. I use the knife as my EDC and now use a bit of militech-1 on it once and a while.

In summery, it can be reassembled.

Ed,

That is great info and it also convinced me NOT to try it.
I appreciate both comments. Thanks gw

I seriously doubt they have two people working on it. There's probably some special tool or little fixture to hold stuff in place during assembly.

That is what I figure that they have a gig or something to help assemble the knife.
