I have never taken apart an AO knife before, but I have a Benchmade 912 that I would like to take the blade out of and strip the coating. Is it as simple as manual folders? Do I just take the pivot out and pull out the blade, or will I have pieces falling out all over the place?

Also, I have never had to send in a Benchmade for service; if I take it apart and do this or any other mod, will it void my warranty?

Warranty is void as soon as you take it apart no the less mod the blade with even just a simple stripping.

I have taken apart a bunch of Benchmades...just take your time and pay attention to where everything is and where it goes back. If you are unsure of yourself take pics at each stage so you can go back and look at them if you get hung up during the reassembly.

You sound pretty knowledgable about Benchmades warranty.

Please show me ONE case where benchmade refused to service a knife because it was once disassembled.
