taking care of a strider

I just ordered my first strider(shaking with anticipation), actually two of em. the MFS and the WP from badassknives. I was wondering what you guys recommend to clean the blades. I also go 4wheeling alot and everytime i do dirt seems to get impregnated into EVERYTHING. i was wondering what kind of paracord is used to wrap the handle and if i could use regular 550 nylon cord to rewrap it after it gets dirty.

When I ship your knives tomorrow 11/3/01 I will put a care card in with the knives. You came to the right place to find the answer to this question. The guys on this furom know their Striders and use them. The best thing I can say is treat it like a gun. Normal PM'ing will keep a Strider Knife alive forever. I dive my JW all the time and it never comes off my Duece Gear durring any op. With normal PM'Ing it looks great after 2 years. Watch out Re-Wrapping the handle I heard it is pretty tough. I added that section to Strider's website after a couple people posted on the forum asking how to do it. My advice send it to the pro's at Strider they will sharpen re-wrap and re-blast the knives free of cost.
