I just found a Woodland Muslin Micarta handled GEC Fish Knife and I'm wondering if there's anything specific I need to do in terms of taking care of it or, even more specifically, avoid doing to it? Any guidance much appreciated.

It doesn't like to be shot.

Outside of that its pretty bullet proof.

Heck it even stop #8s from a 12 gauge at 10 yards.

Seriously, not much needs to be done with it.

Oh yeah. Betting more than a dent. So the guy that I was buying the mycarta from (I called it wranglercarta cause it was made from my old wranglers) calls and says its a bad batch don't use it for handles. So my brother and his family are up for Thanksgiving. The girls are cooking, so bored we go out to the range at the ranch and shoot up this bad batch. .357 was about the only thing we didn't use. Next day the maker calls up and says hey that was the good batch after all, that he still had the bad batch, just got em mixed up. Oops, too late.

Really amusing reply though:D Just try that with Horn..:D it'd be blown away to powder:eek::cool:

Micarta is an excellent scale, tough (near shot proof :D) won't crack like bone or delrin can with ease, no warp issues like Horn or Wood, won't swell like Stag might in very wet conditions. In fact, it thrives on use getting a mellower look to my eye. Rub it over with a bit of oil or wax from time to time. Love it!
