Taking care of my ZT200

Knives aren't extremely sensitive in that way, so most lubes will work without damaging the knife. Some work better than others, though. My personal favorite is Shooter's Choice FP-10. It's gentle on the mechanics, is very fast, doesn't gunk up easily, and doesn't have a strong, weird smell. It's pretty hard to find that exact combination of features.

Thanks, What exactly is sharpening oil? I've heard of Shooters Choice FP10, maybe I'll give that a try.

Don't go overboard.

I run my knives dry, or damn near it. Excess oil/grease attracts pocket lint and junk causing more problems then helping.

If you do feel the need to add oil/grease, disassemble the knife and just barely coat the surface of the washers.

I rarely lube my folders and they are frequently around kydex dust. The ZT200 out of the box has some of the nicest action Ive ever experienced. If it gets dirty, soap and water, dry, add a little of whatevers around, hell pam even but try and wipe of excess.

Landsky. came with my kit. As said you don't have to stress to much. I only put a drop or 2 on the pivot washers every few months or so if my knife starts "screeching" or squeaking

I really don't like honing oil as a knife lube. i've found the buck honing oil i use on my arkansas stone makes my knives a little harder to open. don't know why. Wd-40 works fine or whatever else you have around. like others said, don't overdo it one the knife internals 'cause it'll make the knife get dirty faster. i prefer my knives close to dry. A nice light coat of oil on the blade never hurts though especially if you're trying to keep stains/patina away.

Don't know. Mine honestly worked/work well

I believe it. Maybe the lansky oil is different than what i used, maybe it was some kind of weird coincidence that mine made it worse.

What type of oil should I use on my blades to prevent rust and remove rust?

Thanks.

honestly anything will work. WD-40 is just fine if you already have it around. Once when i was on an extended kayaking trip in alaska i had to use veggie oil i had for cooking to prevent rust. I don't recommend cooking oil but whatever you have will work. I'm going to buy some of that fp-10 mentioned above and try it out because i hate the smell of the oils i have around. I'll let you know how it does.

Also, some people like a little bit of grease on their mechanisms. Haven't tried this myself but it seems like a good idea.
