Hey guys I need your help. Spring break is coming up for us here in Mississippi. My friends and I are to poor to go to Florida or whatnot so one thing we decided to do was to go camping. We are gonna go for atleast 1 night maybe two. We have tents, sleeping bags/pads, little grill, etc. So what would you all suggest for fun things to do in the woods? Were all going to go on a hike, fishing, hopefully be some clear areas for frisbee and football and whatnot. What do you guys do for fun?

The best for me the wife and friends is to do some mountain climbing and hiking. bring a good book and just sit and relax. make a fire and sit around it and talk, laugh and tell some good funny stories. it's a good time to be away from everyone and everything, really get to know oneanother and learn about things that you never knew about each other.

Have fun, it's always a good time in the woods/mountains.

What part of Mississippi are you in? Where are you planning on going? Backpacking or car camping? Booze and girls are always a fun past time in the woods. Stories around the fire are always fun. Girls go weak kneed if you can carve a teddy bear by the fire. Almost guaranteed bag warmer ;). Exploration can be fun as long as you take the precautions to stay found.

When I lived in Saucier we used to raft alot on the creeks and rivers. Knife and tom throwing is a great passtime as well.

Enjoy nature during the day; fish, hike, etc. In the evening, turn on some tunes, build a big fire, drink some whiskey and let the BS begin. Also try to get as far away as possible from other campers so you don't have to worry about disturbing them. I would suggest a campground with no hookups (there won't be any RV's that way), or no campground at all if possible.

If you are car camping... beer and lots of it, if you are hiking in... spirits and lots of em (lighter than beer by alcoholic%) and stories around a fire. At least that is the way we do it here.

I've seen guys packpack in the plastic bladders from boxed wine when they took lady friends backpacking.

You've gotta drink it cause you definately don't want to carry it out!

Seriously though, be careful with alcohol in the backcountry. If you have a village idiot in the group (you guys know the kind I'm talking about!), you'd be better off without it.

Have fun!

I like to bring archery equipment, slingshots, and some .22s. Needless to say, use only where safe and legal, and finish up well before anyone cracks an alcoholic beverage.

Don't assume responsibility for their fun. Pack first aid stuff. Have morning hydration and electrolyte balance for yourself in the A.M., or better yet, don't do stuff that would require you "recovering."

Be safe. Come home intact.

If you're on spring break you can manage more than a night or two. Don't forget the duct tape.
