Taking logos off a blade/handle?

I have a few knives with goofy logos on the handles. Nascar branding, huge company logos that irritate me, and the like.

Is there an easy way to take this off and just leave plain metal? Fine grit sandpaper? Acetone??

Usually a VERY FINE sand paper will work. It will also leave you with a semi satin/mirror finish.
