Taking out the torsion bar

Is it posible to take the torsion bar out of the Chive? This may sound like a strange thing to do but I plan on carrying my Chive IWB and am not confident enough of the lock.

Has anyone done this before? or am I going to end up screwing my knife up?

Yes it is, but you'll want to tighten the pivot screw to keep the blade from flopping open. Personally I'd leave the torsion bar in, the lock is great, if your worried about the lock, tighten the screw so the lock is a little harder to slide.
It won't slip I've carried mine in my pocket with all sorts of stuff bangin up against it and it's never opened.
