Taking Suggestions for New Folder

I'm in the market for a new folder. I've been looking at Spiderco, Emerson, MOD, SOG, BM and the ceramic Boker's. Since I can't make up my mind I thought I would get some input to maybe help me. Looking for suggestions under $250.00. Also any suggestions on where to order of the web would be greatly appreciated or retail stores in the Fort Worth, TX area.

I'd say Benchmade or Sypderco are the best of those you mentioned. Why not bump your price range up a bit and get a small Sebenza. IMO it represents a large increase in quality versus a $250 Benchmade or Spyderco.

Welcom to the forums.
If you ever throw out a price range, expect 90% of the replies to be about 20-30% higher than what you set your price range at.
Because you can always get so much more for just X more dollars!!! I'ld like to throw out som suggestions to you, but I don't know what your style is. What knives do you already own, and what sort of knife do you think you're looking for?
Ah, I'll throw one out there anyway: Spyderco ATR (TI handle) can be found online for about $200.

What he said, and most BM's and Spydies fall under that price. You are sometimes able to get a custom for around that price.

So, previous knives, what you like/don't like, will help a great deal.

If you're going to go as high as $250 you may want to look at Microtech. Their new CMTX5 looks VERY nice for about $200 in a manual action.

Don't get a ceramic Böker unless you want to cut with it and nothing else. Even very light prying will snap the blade in half in no time. And Böker's liner locks have a less than stellar reputation.

Some models made by some of the manufacturers you mentioned you should take a look at:

Spyderco - (Para-)Military, Chinook, Manix
Emerson - Commander (highly recommended!), Blackbird
Benchmade - AFCK, 710

Here are a couple of my favorites in that price range.

Bladetech pro hunter
Spyderco ATR Ti handled

There are alot of excellent choices in that price range, happy shopping!

Thanks for the replies. I may look into to BM Griptillian and Spiderco suggestions. Any suggestions on where to order from? I have a house of blades in Fort Worth but they are about a 30% mark-up over other retailers.

Let me add the Camillus Dominator to the excellent suggestions that have been made already.

And another great place to buy from is KnifeWorks. Prices are competitive and the service has always been exceptional.

I have that Boker Ceramic knife. It is a good gents knife but way over priced and honestly I have never quite taken to it. It isn't exactly something you can cut all materials with. It is only something good for food prep and even that is kind of iffy IMO> You can't sharpen it yourself and from my observations is isn't as sharp as I can get my steel knives.
