After looking around the websites , I have decided to take the plunge and order myself a Buck 112 Ranger . Due to the strict knife laws in the UK it will be a little easier to carry around . I managed to get it from " Knives and Tools " in the UK at quite a reasonable price and free postage considering that some of the dealers are selling them for £80 + ( British Sterling )! Which is daylight robbery for a standard model. I am getting my old Regiment "Motto" and Unit number and my Initials engraved on the blade for a couple of pounds extra . I fully intend to jazz it up slightly by replacing the scales with something different . I have quite a choice as Ive still got plenty of pieces of stabilised exotic woods , reindeer Antler and Black Buffalo horn left from when I used to make Scandi knives . I am thinking of using Australian Eucalyptus Burl wood which has beautiful tight figuring and has a great finish . Later I am thinking of buying a 113 Ranger Skinner and replacing the scales with the same wood , to make a nice matching set . Cant make my mind up though because they would look great with Reindeer Antler or Buffalo Horn as well , I will sleep on it !
Mike
