Well... my Mini-Talon has proven, IMHO, the extraordinary usefulness of Talonite. This stuff is simply incredible. I can cut all day long, and completely restore the edge with just a quick strop. And nothing that I cut will rust it!!! You cant get much better than that. So Ive decided to take the plunge and get a Talonite EDC. What can I say? Im a Talonite junkie!!! And Im betting that the blade geometry of the EDC will blown away even the great cutting power of the Mini-Talon.
My first exposure to quality knives was last year. I was shopping around for a good folder and went to the bookstore. I picked up a couple of knife magazines, and saw adds for the 420HC EDC. It was love at first sight, but the EDC hadnt hit the streets yet. I picked up a couple of other folders while I patiently waited for the EDC. Okay, maybe not so patiently.
So I got an EDC as soon as they were available. That purchase led to a 154CM EDC, and then an Anniversary Edition EDC. Now Ill be using a Talonite EDC as my .. EDC!!!! Ive also purchased EDCs for my wife and father-in-law. I guess you could say that I have an EDC kind of family.
The EDC is just the handiest, most comfortable, most useful and dependable small folder Ive ever used. I guess I had to have an EDC with a blade material of the same quality as the design itself.
So why didnt I get one earlier? Thats a good question. First off, I was waiting to see what new designs Camillus had coming for 2002. I didnt want to get a Talonite EDC, only to find out that something better was in the works. But alas, my ultimate folder didnt come out this year; a larger Talonite EDC. The MAXX is cool, but I must have Talonite!!! D2 is awesome, but its just not Talonite.
Anyways . Come on Will!!! We need a 3 ½ inch version of the Talonite EDC. Push that baby through for 2003, please!!! Oh yah. And while youre at it, put a flipper on that baby!!! My wife, in all honesty, has a bit of a problem overcoming the strong ball detent while opening her 154CM EDC. I picked her up a Chive with the flipper, and she has absolutely no problems opening it. The EDC cries for a flipper.
