Opposites Attract! Two very different EDC knives that I think are really cool. On top is the California legal Microtech Mini-Troodon Out-The-Front Automatic with DLC M390 steel in a modified tanto shape, with translucent jade scale, aka our over-priced box-opener;
And below is a full custom slipjoint by Joel Chamblin with CPM 154 hand-rubbed satin blade in, well, not sure what it is, maybe a modified Wharncliffe with a harpoon swedge, and CF covers. Great walk and talk, and a half-stop.

GECs do fetch a high price online. I have a bullnose and it wasn't cheap. Ive never looked into a custom slip joint before. I'll have to keep that on my radar

Alan Davis is one of several who make both slippies and moderns, at very good prices. I have one of his slipjoints bought off someone on BF and it is excellent. I have seen some preowned by different makers on the various custom and general knife sites going for $3 - 500, for full customs. Obviously exotic steels and scales can jack up the price.
