Since I've been so caught up with family, I completely forgot to share these two knives with you.

A few weeks ago, my son was approached by his Math tutor (who is also an antiques dealer) to help him identify 4 pocket knives he was ready to sell at his store. Besides my son giving him information about the four, but also offered to clean off some of the surface rust on the blades and backsprings. I ended up coming home from work right after his tutor left, but my son had the knives in his possession. I was shocked to see they were not Kamp King and Colonial knives we usually see at antique stores, but unique brands. One that caught my eye was this Paris Bead fishing knife, and I actually had a similar one on my watch list on eBay. I decided I'd offer to buy it the next day when he came back to pick them up. After a little haggling I bought it for $20.00. After the fact he told me he bought the four from a flea market for $20.00 in total. When my son's tutor left, I could tell he was very excited with something. He said that Frank (his tutor) was so pleased with the information he was given and the fact that he already made his money back, that he gave my son one of the knives. So that's the story, and I thought it was a very nice experience at that. The man is a very nice guy, and he and my son talk about antiques all the time which is pretty neat.

Here are the knives. My son is so happy with the D. Peres that he's been carrying it ever since he received it.

The Paris Bead is a very hefty knife, and dwarfs the D. Peres. :D I haven't been able to find much about this company, but after some research this cokebottle pattern seems to be the only style they made...:confused:

The D. Peres is also a nifty little knife. I don't know why I didn't offer to buy this one first. It has very worn stag covers and 6 blades. The thing that surprised me the most was the fact that the scissors still had the spring.

And here they are together.

Two very nice looking knives Tom, I really like both of them - you got a bargain if you ask me, The Coke bottle is just a great knife, very little use apart from the scaler, and the Stag is just simply beautiful on the other, thanks for showing.

Wow the stag one is very beautiful! Great selection of blades, very basic but stylish shield, old school corkscrew. Have you been able to date it? How big is it? And more pictures please. :D

Wow, great post Tom, lovely knives, I especially like the Peres, your lad has always had great taste :)

Did someone try to sharpen the scaler? Or is there some armor scaled fish in your neck of the woods?
