i realize everyone may have had their fill of the lcc topics, but i couldn't resist showing the two side by side since i have them both.

major differences include size and weight of course, and tip up for mt and tip down for lightfoot. the clips also 'curve' in opposite directions. mt has 3 aluminum anodized back spacers and a lanyard attachment, lightfoot has what appears to be a carbon fiber back spacer near the bottom and is mostly open down the spine, no lanyard hole.

Thanks for the pic. I was always curious as to how these two compared. Can you give us a review comparing and contrasting the two other than size and weight? It would be greatly appreciated.

Ahhhhhh. Now I see why Greg called it the LCC. "Little Canadian Cousin"

Damn, I didn't realize that the MT was so large. Solid? I bet! I do favor the Lightfoot's sloping bolster and 2 screw handle. That MT looks awesome and I can't wait for mine to arrive (back ordered don't cha know!).

The Lightfoot one does look more of an everyday carry knife to me, the MT looks to be HUGE in comparison, what are the blade sizes and overall length of both?

The custom LCC is nice, but kinda smallish too. I almost got one, but the size just wasn't right for me. You'd probably like it G2, it's probably about the same size of a WH T10 Lancet...just wider.

I have Greg's 458 Mag with the Mil grind in star damascus with gold screws. That is the way my LCC will come from Greg. It makes for a nice combination. Greg stated that is as dressy as he wants to get and as far as I know he does not use Ivory or MOP.

I forgot to mention that Greg told me that the reason for the difference in size is that Greg did not mant the MT to be confused with the Lightfoot LCC soe he designed/made the MT prototype larger.

Just got my Lightfoot LCC (beadblast) and I can't put it down. What an awesome knife. Fit and finish is just so much better than the run of the mill production pieces (yeah I know it's a collaboration) . And the price point is incredible for the quality. I could easily be a "microholic".

dmc,

How does the quality compare between the two? I have the Microtech and it seems very "custom like" in quality. Is the custom version vastly superior to the Microtech?

as far as comparing quality....i am no expert knife reviewer but i will try to point out some differences i have noticed. neither of the knives i own have cut anything worth reviewing so i will just comment on the 'knife in hand' evaluation. on overall fit and finish, i have to give it to the real mccoy, i mean lightfoot. both rate equal in action and lock up for their size. the mt feels stronger because it is much larger and thicker in every respect. the carbon fiber slab on the liner side of the mt does not fit precisely, slightly offset leaving a raised corner of bolster exposed. the clip on the mt is designed to be recessed in the carbon fiber. on mine, one side of clip is flush where recessed and the other side is raised (more cf needs to be removed under clip). i would prefer the clip to 'curve' in the opposite direction on the mt but that's just me. all that said, those items are very 'nit' picky, the knife is very well made and worth every penny, an excellent value. the only 'flaw' i can find in the lightfoot is the blade finish. it is a satin finish that is uneven in appearance, i can still see some very minor grind lines in the finish. for max value/quality and extreme use, i say get the mt. for quality, collectibility and general daily duty, the lightfoot may be the choice for those who enjoy a handmade knife and can spend the bucks. because of the size difference in the two knives, a better head to head comparison may be one of greg's 'full size' knives vs the mt lcc..dmc
