In 1997 my sister in law got me a pocket power pliers for christmas. I immediately fell in lover with it. It was the perfect size to fit in my poacket for when I need to take it up the the elderly neighbors to fix something. I usually kept it is the change drawer of our van where it was always handy. About 18 months ago my wife took the van to the dealers, and when she picked it up the tool was gone.
Of course the dealer said it wasn't their fault and said someone must have taken some other time or we had misplaced it (we no longer use the dealer as we also found that they hadn't done some of the work we had paid for :grumpy: ).
Anyway, this chistmas I opened a new pocket powerplier that my wife had gotten to replace the stolen one. It has already made it back into my pocket (but NOT into the van
. I had forgotten how nice it is compared with my Gerber and Leatherman Super Tool. Just the right size and wieght to pocket, but still substantial enough to handle just about anything arround to house that doesn't require getting out the tool chest. Now all I need to do is replace the awl with either a 1/4" socket drive or medium screw driver if I can figure out which I will use more.
With the discontinuations, I am glade that the guys at SOG didn't do away with this excellent design.
Happy news year to all!
