Even in the most densely populated state in the USA, one can go missing for days or attacked by a wild animal.

The experimental helicopter that went missing Sunday after taking off from an Elmer area field was found Tuesday, officials said. Both the pilot and passenger were dead.

Sgt. Gerald Lewis, spokesperson for New Jersey State Police, said the wreckage was spotted by a Forrest Fire Service helicopter.

He said State Police Teams South units recovered the wreckage 200 yards off the Atlantic City Expressway in a heavily wooded area (Pine Barrens).

Yup, had a guy who lived in town for years, got in trouble with the PD and left his truck in the woods. He hiked back in to retrieve his truck and must have got lost. They found him days later, dead from exposure. Hard to believe there are places like that in NJ when your driving through Bergan or Essex County huh?

I can believe it, but the "woods" by me you could throw a baseball over

Go about 10 miles North on 23, and you couldn't get a baseball over the woods with a cannon. :D

I'm about 15 minutes past Sussex where they shot that bear. A man could in fact get lost up here. I grew up down in Passic and Morris county and when I moved up here it was like wild kingdom for me. One of the last great places to be in this FUBAR ed state we live in.

My parents and I used to go canoeing(with our Old Town canoe) up north between NJ and NY at Greenwood Lake.
Very nice and very wild up there. Good memories for me.

Try rt 70 between philly and lakehurst, the old "geriatric highway". It's just trees. Mac

hey! who knew there were more NJerzee guys in here?:)

search out NJ KCA, and maybe you can come to one of our meetings!

every third sunday of the month in woodbridge.

this is as sad as the story yesterday as the 3 kids who were playing in the trunk of a car-

found dead.

in camden nj :( :(

come to www.jerzeedevil.com/forums for more Jerzee talk!

Yeah! What he said! Stop in sometime.
My father used to tell me about hunting rabbit & pheasant in Newark, NJ. When I was a kid, we moved to central NJ. We had loads of woods, fields and farmland. Plenty of deer, fox, pheasant, etc.. Now the woods are gone, the river is just a mere trickle and houses & apartment houses sit on the farmland. :(

LaBella - the Camden affair is horrific.

Did you see the video taken Thursday of a female officer walking up to the car, looking in, then squatting down and looking under it? She then walks away. The kids were 6 inches away from her in the trunk.

Outside our bedroom window 2 weeks ago. A very big boy indeed. We were thrilled, but I can understand why families with small children and outdoor pets would be nervous to have him hanging around.

I'm not surprised that these are Gloucester and Sussex counties. That's why I always bring some survival gear when hiking.
