Tales of Tactical Tableware: SOG Attacked By BBQ'ed Turkey

It seems this past Saturday my wife decided to fire up the Weber and BBQ a 16-lb turkey. And she did, and quite successfully.

When it came time for carving, a (very distinguished brand) knife was used.

And when it was time for removing all the meat from the bones, a SOG Recon Bowie was brought into action. Needless to say, the SOG won.

Cheers,

Carl

Carl, you are such a tease. If you don't start posting pics, you will owe me BIG time. :p he he he

Oh no ! Not again ! :grumpy:

I just don't know what to say....... :( , except, did you wipe it off ?

I had KFC with plastic dinnerware  and I did not have to wash dishes afterwards.

What happened to steak knives ?

Robbie Roberson ;)

Who needs a steak knife on BBQ turkey???
A butter knife would have sufficed... at least the turkey grease will help protect the steel... :p

Steak knives? I don't need no stinking steak knives when I have my SOGs around. :D:D

One of these days I'll have to quit buying SOG's and buy a digital camera..... but please don't hold your breath !!

It was a glorious dinner and the (very distinguished brand) knife performed flawlessly, I was quite impressed with the "super sharp" it took, and the smoothness of cutting.
And the SOG Recon Bowie similarly performed flawlessly owing to it's great heft, feel, and honed-to-a-razor sharpness.

The turkey was slow-cooked to perfection and was and is quite delicious !!

Cheers,

Carl

Flash II and steak ready to go on the BBQ

SEAL Revolver/X-42 AutoClip, with home made Chicken stew

The revolver was used to cut up all the veggies for the stew and the X-42 AutoClip came in handy for spreading butter on the rolls. There isn't much that combo can't handle in the kitchen.:D

Heber, I wish you would quit posting all that stew, it makes me hungry. :D

I have never had veggie juice on my knives, .

P.S. My family is having KFC on easter and we will use "plastic dinnerware".

Robbie Roberson ;)

Robbie, if those pics are making you hungry, check out these next few (Click image for larger version):

Robbie, you really should use your knives, they love it. ;) he he he

ONIONS ! You cut onions with the Revolver ? It will forever smell like it and make your eyes water :p , I need some of that soup, wonder if there is a way to ship soup from Utah to Tenn. ? :D

Robbie Roberson ;)

I dont believe my eyes!!! ROB Whats up!!

I met you at SMKW---Guy on crutches--Mark--bought TiNi Revolver!! Been tryin to find your number so I can get some xpert work on rehandling a CS Trailmaster!!

I've a very bad idea for THE perfect test for Robbie's Revolver ?? Clean it thoroughly in very hot soapy water, rinse very very thoroughly once & then twice.....
Then toss it in the stew and simmer it with the rest of the veggies !!

Just leave it there. And when the stew is all gone, check to see how the SOG Revolver maintained it's cool.

Robbie, I've met a lot of meat & potatoes kinda folks in Tennessee, maybe this will help convince 'em that the Revolver is even better than they think.... especially when they've unknowingly dropped it in the stew.

Cheers,

Carl

Hey guys, sorry for the delay in responding to your post, computer crashed last week and lost all emails and info. don't know what happened yet, but am trying to figure it out, lost all records and emails and email capabilities.
I am working to get it all back up, and have access to a computer for short visits on forums. So I will let you know when I find out what happened. I think it may be a worm or email contamination or virus. What ever it is, it had complete control of my computer and mail.
I should have known better than to open all mail, but hated to miss out on talking to every one, so this may be what happened.

I have gremlins jumping around in my computer now and don't know what to do yet, but will eventually figure it out even if I have to throw the thing in the pond and start over :D .

Carl..... , Stewed Revolver...no way !!!!!

Hellzrazor, Good to hear from you, did you get your signed paper at SMKW ?
Sorry I missed you all those times, give me a few days to get this stuff fixed and I will email you......not doing much on knives right now, been very busy, I will get back to you.
Robbie Roberson ;)

Heber, check your forums mail, did you get any new SOGs lately :D ,
I will be on some other forums, let me know if you got my messages.

Robbie, no new emails from you as of 4:48pm. But sometimes emails are slow so I'll keep checking. I sent you an email earlier this afternoon. Nope, no new SOGs aside from the Flash II I got a few weeks ago. But my mail carrier did drop off 2 packages for me.:D Check your email, I wrote you about one of them. If you didn't get it, let me know and I'll resend the email.

Robbie, done and done. Sent you a PM on the other forum.

Talk about thread hijacking. he he he.:p

I wonder what kind of knife one would use for Turkey Pot Pies? lol

Heber, You know, I have been thinking about trying my Revolver on a ham, but I just can't seem to get it close to it. Every time I do, I think I can actually hear it screaming, NO ! :D
I think I will let you and Carl do the meat carving, I use the saw on my Revolver all the time to cut limbs, but never food, have you tried the saw on any Veggies yet ?

Robbie, the Saw would devour the food and not be much of a challenge. Can't forget, it would probably consume most of it and then I wouldn't have much to eat.:( :p lol Best to leave the food prep to the knife blades. ;) Hee Hee Hee :D
