Hey Fellow Knife Addicts,

Can someone please tell me if the Tali-Whacker nicely fits in a Specs Ops Sheath? Thanks!

Hey Rob,
Yes the medium Spec Ops will fit a Tali-Whacker. I bought an LE that came with one, but I didn't like it.
I ordered a Kydex sheath from Dave Brown.

I've been using my spec ops sheath to hold a Military Regulator that's .33 --- does that mean it's been too loosened? Thanks for the advice

I know the liner is heat formed to the blade (usually with hot water or a heat gun), so if you did for the Regulator, it's probably way to wide for your Tali-Whacker now. You may be able to order another liner from Spec Ops.

Wider is fine. Just remove the liner via the small Velcro patches using something like a butter knife... then cover with a paper towel and iron the liner down in a few places slowly while test fitting the Tali till you get the fit you want and insert your liner back into the sheath. Spec Ops are great for Sabre ground Regs and other 1.75" max width blades up to .35 ish but thinner and flat ground like the American Reg and Tali will rattle and have loose retention unless you fit the liner. Like I said, I prefer to just melt it down in a few spots and it fits the coated Talis great. As-is for Parked Regs and Mil Over runs. 711 is loose too IIRC.

The coating is tough, but you might not want your LE rubbing the blade inside the liner at all. My LE is still in its yellow net in the tactical cardboard sheath :) Spec Ops liner is pretty soft plastic not as hard as kydex but depending on dirt in the liner and whether it is a user or not... use your judgement. I think the large Up to 8" Spec Ops is a great sheath for Talis.
