Talisker

What's the "#2". I'm a fan of Lagavulin too, but not sure I'm familiar with the #2. What are the different varieties?

I guess i was pretty cryptic there, Dan. What I meant was that Lagavulin's my second favorite behind Talisker...

Got it. I reread your post and it makes perfect sense now. I guess I missed the period between your first and second sentences. Funny how much difference a little punctuation makes.

I'll have to try Talisker. Good to see some fans of single malt here instead of just the JWB fans.

I'll have to try those.

What is the price range?

I still find Oban to be the best bang for the money at $38-$44 depending on where I find it.

I just got a Bowmore Islay 17 year.

It is a good Scotch but the flavors are too strong for my taste.

It was about $65

If you like Oban, you'll like Talisker or Lagavulin. Talisker's around $50, and Lagavulin's a little more...

I think the Lagavulin was about $60 when I went to the liquor store last time. I'll have to try the Talisker. Don't think I've had that one yet.

I found Oban to be lighter than Lagavulin, so you may or may not like it depending on your taste since you said the Bowmore was stronger than you prefer.

One thing I like about the Lagavulin is its a great balance midway between too light and too strong (for my taste) so you may end up liking it.
