Why don't these resell well? It is not unusual to see them languish for weeks on the sale forums, and at prices at or below original price.

One is sitting on USN now, with no buyer responses at all. Heck, at that price, I would buy it just to sit in my collection, if there wasn't one already there.

Maybe the respirene handle puts people off, or the non-INFI steel. But still, it's a unique Busse.

For me, it is the blade shape, handle and blade material that never interested me. On Bad Mojo it says the original price was $238.95, that is below the asking price on USN.

To me, it's just not visual appealing. On the flip side, the PT5, is so ugly it appeals to me. Go figure.

Showing my ignorance, what is USN?

I love the heft and feel of the Whacker but having only one I haven't beat anything with it. Those stinkin' Rats want to cut it down to a Mini Spec-Ops which might be more appealing. I had mine up for sale at the original price for a while but it never sold.

It's a nice looking knife.
But he's asking more than 238.95$.

Black blades to me are sort of like blacks BDUs. In my opinion it is sort of a chiche: black and "tactical". The respirine C proabably makes an excelent shock absorbing handle but it does not apeal to me in the way that micarta does. The tali-wacker looks like an excelent blade but, it does not do the same thing for me as another Busse. In all honesty I cannot say why I like nornal Busses more...I just do!

I agree, it is rather strange that they are not as easy to sell as regular Busses.

I was going by memory on the original price, missed it a little. Still, I like the knife and that isn't a bad price for it.

i will say this,

basic 7.

i didnt really like the basic 7 because i had a basic 5 and a basic 9, and would inevitably cary both instead of the 7, but that basic 7 is the "busse" version of the tali whacker (its not as they are both busse's but thats what it looks like visually). the tali whacker is more like a swamp rat knife, but the swamp rat knives tend to look more refined.

the reason it never appealed to me... tanto grind, wich has never done anything for me in any way shape or form. its an in between knife, not small enough to daily carry in most cities, and not large enough to do serious chopping. the handle is that of the swamp rat battle rat, and i find the basic series of handle's to be in an entirely different league (a better league). they are thinner, with multiple texture patterns on them. the overall feel of the swamp rat style plain handle is bulky, and it never sat right with me.

i always wanted to hold one to feel it, but i'd have no real world use for it. not when i can get a basic 7 in its place.

That's interesting Mike. I really like the Tali. I usually hate tantos, but the Tali's traditional curved Tanto suites me fine. It has a very strong yet really fine point and tons of belly. As far as size, I think it is about the perfect realistic combat knife size. No, I will not be going into combat any time soon, but I still enjoy the fact that it fits that niche well. Also, I found the Talis had thinner edges that a lof of Busses, which I love.

Don't like tantos, Res C handles, or black blades very much.

I'd rather have a tan Camp Tramp if I wanted a vaguely similar knife.

I love the knife. I personally spent around $300 on the secondary market for mine and will take it to the grave.
It is possibly my favorite Busse knife.
Maybe it's knowing it was a gift from a company showing real support to our troops. In a world of chinese car magnets, asking you to support our troops, It shows a man's real patriotism and honor. It's a knife that was worn on the belts of our boys in A-Stan, reaping vengance for us NY'ers. It was Carried by Hero's into harm's way, half way around the world so you could be safe at home.

That makes it worth everything.

I have three or I might have snatched it up my self. :D

Peter, The resiprene C handle is very shock absorbing, and if you do a ton of chopping, you would really appreciate it over micarta. As for black tac chic, I could care less about the color of it. Black Res C was the base standard as was the black coating for Busse knives, so black it is. I would personally love to have one of the ones that went over seas to our troops someday when one comes back from service.
