I'm debating picking up one of these back boys. Talk me into buying it or talk me out. All comments welcome.

well they really arnt too readily available...i would put one on order if you at all want it and if you decide against it, just cancel the order...

also the G10 millie is lightweight, the Ti millie is heavier, but if i had to choose i would get the Ti. stronger lock IMO

Ya, I agree. It's Ti framelock or nothing. My debate isn't between the two, it's shelling out the cash.

well i have seen the G10 go for 140 ish, and i have seen the Ti go for 180, 190 ish, to me it is a no brainer, Ti all the way :D

Before I had my Paypal account and it's contents locked, I was thinking hard about the Titanium Military. I regret not jumping on it now, since most of my Benjamins are sealed in the Paypal account for half a year. I say definitely go for it, there won't be anything as prestigious like this in a long while, not unless they make a Ti Manix2 with BG42

Where have you seen the ti for 180-190? Yourcornerstore has them for 198 i believe but they are all out until the 31st.

I decided to take a pass on the Ti Millie. The lock on the conventional Millies is very strong and dependable and the G10 or Carbon Fiber frames are as strong and lightweight as anyone could want. The Ti is problematic in the cold, scratches easily and is heavier than G10. Ti also has a tendency to gall, which has never impressed me.

In the final analysis, how much do you want to pay for an S30V blade? Wouldn't the money be better spent tracking down an S90V Carbon Fiber?

I like mine fine, but it gets no pocket time. I prefer the regular Military for its lighter weight, and grippier scales. Nothing wrong with the Ti, though. Its purely subjective.

Every thread needs at least one pic.

How easily does titanium scratch? Like from taking it in and out of the pocket or dropping it in a wood chipper?

Thanks for the pic Noodle.

Eh, it looks nice, but if you're actually planning to put it to work, I feel g10 makes for a more practical handle material. As far as the lock is concerned, I'm sure the framelock is great, but the g10 millie has the nicest liner lock I've used, and haven't seen anything to shake my confidence in it, even under hard use.

My Ti Military is not showing any scrathes. I think it is anodized. I am having zero problems in the cold. The weight difference is 44gm (162 vs 118). Call it an ounce and a half. The Ti handle accepted an S90V blade. All the problems are solved. The frame lock is very vault-like. Recommend to all.

They seem to be flooding eBay lately, and I'm trying really, really hard not to pull the trigger. I love Militaries, so I want one for my collection, but I know i'll never use it over my S90V . I don't want to spend that much on a safe queen. If you'll use it, I say go for it. The only reason I don't think I'll buy one is because I know I won't carry it.

The force is weak with me, I pulled the trigger. At least it was an excuse to order the paracord I've been wanting.

I've been wanting a G-10 Mili but decided to get a Ti since it limited production. If I decide i don't like it I'm sure I'll have no problem trading it for a G-10 version.

Through normal wear and tear, you will start to see some fine scratches and shinier sections as the surface wears in. This is not necessarily a bad thing on a user, but it will occur.

I guess that I should have defined 'cold' as Canadian type cold. A metal knife handle in your pocket will suck the heat out of you, much like an aluminum window frame. When you are using it in sub-zero temperatures, putting it back in your pocket is a real experience.

Don't get me wrong, I am not 'dissing' the Ti Millie, I am simply stating why it is not for me. YMMV

P.S. - I have 6 Millies ATM, 4 CF, a CPM D-2 and a G10 in black. I love the pattern.

I've had a G10 Military for a while, and I just received a Ti Military. Except for the handle material and the lock, they appear to be identical.

They are equally well made (excellent), equally smooth, and operate about the same way. The frame lock MIGHT be stronger and more reliable than a liner lock, but I believe that both are entirely adequate for my purposes.

I own three knives with frame locks, and I appreciate the simplicity of frame lock (fewer parts) over the liner lock. They are a bit easier to clean after food prep. It looks like the frame lock MIGHT be a bit more resistant to jamming (by grains of sand), but I have never had a jam with either type of lock. I am not sure there's a practical difference between them, other than cost.

The G10 Military has been in production long enough that the bugs have been worked out of the design. Although I haven't noticed any problems with the TI, its a new design with respect to the lock.

The handle of the Ti is slightly thinner according to my calipers, and the handle is smooth, so it slips in and out of my waistband a bit easier. I don't live in a cold climate, so I am not concerned about cold weather characteristics. The Ti makes a bit less noise when it's opened (less THWAAK!), which I appreciate.

The Ti weights about 1.6 oz more, which isn't a lot, but I can't think of a reason why I would ever choose to carry the extra weight of the Ti when I have a G10, so I am not sure the Ti is a keeper.
