I want another Emerson and I have clearance from the XO. I'm on the fence between another 7(I have 4) or a 13 which I love the blade shape. Talk me into th is guys.
 
Get the 13. It's an awesome blade shape, lots of belly and still some straight edge for other work. The tip is nice and pointy as well. Ergonomics are great as well, really locks your hand in there. Grip positions are somewhat limited compared to the 7 but still useful. I carried a 13 for a long time, you can't go wrong.
 
You could also wait for the sheep dog. Has a bowie blade shape and a grip similar to the seven.

13 is a good choice too. I have a tiger and it has the same handle as the 13 and as mentioned, the ergos really lock your hand in.
 
I like the looks of the 13 better than the sheepdog. Just a personal preference thing. Im thinking about just making the jump to a 12.

All this, and the grind work is just beautiful. If you like clip points, you'll love the lines/curves on the 13.

that is EXACTLY why I went with the 13 when picking up my 3rd Emerson. during the winter months I do alotta hunting, and the blade design combined with the fact that an Emerson tears down easily to be cleaned, imo it will make for a great hunting knife. not to mention that I like to carry a large folder with excellent ergos to compliment my edc SAK, and it definitely fits the bill. it hasn't left my pocket since the day I got it and the 13 has put a squash to my forever hunt for the ideal folder for edc.

13 is one if Ernie's very best hands down. Highly recommended. Just got my 13 back in from being zero ground and gotta say I love it even more. Scary sharp and not just saying that. . . This thing will take a limb off if not careful
 
Think everyone covered it all. You already have 4 CQC-7's, why not try the 13? Wouldn't hurt and the handle feels great!
 
Cool thread. I like the look of the 13 a lot too.

Struck out with the CQC 8 and Horsemen not being for me and am itching to try something else like the 13, 10 or Specwar.

Talk you into it? seriously? Just look at the 13, that should be more than enough, what else could you possibly need? ;)
 
Personally I would opt for the Patriot first. The 13 has a very fine tip. When I had mine it was a concern, YMMV.

GET THE 13...or a HD12 both look great. I do understand the want for another 7 though....I just bought my first emerson and it's a 7....I already want a super 7 and a 7A lol
