I'm still on the fence about blade. I'm not sure my credit card can handle any more INFI/SR101/S77, etc..

Anyway, I have a very small window if I go. Friday, with the possibilityof an overnight stay, getting back no later than lunch on Saturday. It's a 5 hour drive from my house, 3 hour from wife's grandparents. I'd be travelling alone. I've never been to Blade before and relatively speaking I'm fairly "close".

Also, I didn't think I'd be able to go, so I didn't get a VIP pass, so I figure I won't get "first choice" anyway. At best, I might be able to score one or two. Is it worth the hassle? Either way, I won't be able to make the Saturday Night shindig, advice? I have to decide soon:D

If you can afford the trip, and are up for the five hour drive alone, then you should go. After seeing some of the pieces that will be available, about anything you buy will make it worth the trip as soon as you get home.

C'mon!!

If you decide not to, send me your INFI $$ so it's not wasted on other stuff. :D

Walk In The Park , If You Don't Go You'll Be Kicking Yourself . Go Go Go !

Not to highjack, but I am in the same boat. In Orlando this week. Supposed to fly home to VA. on Saturday AM. My buddy is here as well and wants to go as well. Our options are to head up Friday (6-7 hours of driving) and be there at the Blade show for part of the evening Friday (sleep in the car if we can't find anything). Go back to Blade Saturday morning, but we would have to leave by 10:00 AM or so and drive another 10 - 11 hours to get back home Saturday evening...

Pros:
1) Meeting you guys and maybe even the Boss-Man and of course the lovely Busse ladies. :)
2) Possibly scoring on some sweet INFI. The CC's can handle it...

Cons:
1) Not sure if I would have a place to stay Friday night.
2) Crap load of driving.
3) Knowing that my CC's can handle it.

Ugh, what to friggin' do...

Ugh, what to friggin' do...
1) stay up for the "all night pillow fight" in amy's room
2) do some light dozing while driving, also no-doz and tons of coffee
3) better you use your card than your wife

Do it...

and if you do go, make damn sure you're in front of the Busse booth Friday morning at opening, those who hesitate are lost

:D

So VIP passes are no longer available which means 2:00 PM is the earliest we can get in. What would the prospects be of landing any of those sweet custom INFI blades? What about being able to get in to the show in the morning?

Blade Show Newbie is trying to figure things out...

I'll see you both there!

You will have just a good a shot as any since they'll be opening stuff at all different hours:thumbup:

Has anyone here been paying attention?

Or are the more crafty among you ignoring this on purpose?

Busse Combat will be opening boxes all day long every day, it doesn't matter when you show up as long as you are there.

I for one would make the trip if I thought my wife would let me back in after plane tickets and a couple of days away from home for something that she doesn't understand in the slightest. Maybe one of these years, hopefully soon, I will be able make it to Blade.

I do have to add that I would not be interested in going to Blade if it were only for the knives, I can get the knives that I want mailed to myself in the comfort of my own home for no more than shipping charges. OK maybe not every single knife is available to me at hom, but the majority are.

I would love to attend Blade for the chance to meet all of the people that I interact with right here every day. The staff at Busse Combat, and all the Swine that frequent the boards have become almost like family to me, and I would love the chance to participate in the get-togethers and enjoy a couple of drinks with everyone.

I see no reason why a five hour drive and maybe missing a little bit of sleep should deter you from going to Blade.

In the words of the Boss himself.

GO GO GO

It's lookin' more like we'll be there. Gotta tag down the car still. Probably get a mini-van so that we can crash in the back if we can't find a hotel/motel w/ vacancies...

As mentioned above, meeting some of you will be sweet... Gonna have to stop off at a liqour store to load up on Scotch for Friday night!

It's easy to get  with Blade just around the corner.

Reread Jerry's post here and your questions will be answered. :)

I'd say you've still got a good chance. Just don't wander too far from the booth! :D
