Talk me into the CF blur

After buying the Zing from Dave, I have the itch for another knife already. The blur seems to get much love on this forum so I am thinking I will go that route.

Right now I am looking at Blems from Dave. I use all my knives so I might as well save some money. The three I am looking at are the Desert Sand Blur, S30V, and of course the CF. There's about a $20 jump between each one and money isn't something I have a bunch of to throw around. I can afford any of these three, I just need to be able to justify the extra savings if I go higher in cost. So is the steel the only difference in the knives? Other than the CF is the handle material the same?

I guess a part of me wants the CF blur, but that's mostly because its a limited deal and I might not be able to in the future. But the other part of me says save the money for now, because everyone seems to love the regular blur too.

Help.

I think you've come to the right place to ask about Blurs. I know for a fact that somebody has picked up 3 CF's. These Blur collectors are crazy. I picked a Desert Sand Blem from Dave and I love it. I use it as my beater knife and it keeps asking for more. The deployement is superb, because of the Speedsafe, but from what I've heard, you'd be better off if you took the Speedsafe out. You don't have to worry about grip, but I can't be 100% sure about the CF version. I say bite the bullet and try one. You won't be disappointed.

EDIT: You don't have to deassist the Blur. Thanks for pointing out what I said bad_juju. Was trying to say that from what I've read, the Blur makes an awesome manual knife. It is down to personnel preferance. Sorry for any confusion :o

The CF blur is easy to get right now but once they will all be gone.

Id get the CF because the feel is way better than the regular Blur. Feels good in the hand and so smooth coming and going from the pocket. Plus they look awesome and the CPM-154 is worth the extra $. You wont regret getting it, you will regret not getting it.

I have owned a fair share of blurs. I never kept many of them and kept trading until I found the burnt orange. I love it and it is the one I will never part with. The cpm 154 is my favorite steel on the blur so far. The carbon fibers won't be around forever and are sweet looking with upgraded steel. I think it would be worth it to jump on it because you will kick yourself down the road if you dont. It is worth the extra cash.

You can also deassist like knotty said but I wouldn't say you are better off. Its just a preference thing. Not to mention if you get a couple you can build a franken blur the way you want which is very fun and addicting!

Now you're just showing off!! This is what I mean by crazy celtic. In no time at all, you'll end up like this guy.

Lol! "This guy" must not have three kids under 5 like this guy does. Id have to refinance my house to buy that many knives!

Naw my kids are grown and I prefer knives over other distractions

That's cool, man. I have quite a few hobbies so unfortunately I can't really go all out in any of them but I try and do the best I can. FWIW, I think your blur collection is awesome.

You Order the CF Blur yet OP?

3 kids will leave your wallet empty. I have one under 2 and a stay at home mom. But it works for us, I make the money and she doesnt complain if I buy a "reasonable" amount of knives.

Oh yeah and if you get it from Dave it will get to you super fast. He got it from Oregon to my house in NC in 2 days.

I didn't buy it yet. I can do the Desert Sand right now, the CF I think I might have to wait a couple weeks.

Im pretty new into my career (HVAC) and there isn't a ton of money in it right now. My wife is a part time home health RN, so she makes too much money to be a stay at home mom! She would love that though.

My brother just started a few months back doing HVAC. Will be a good job, but like you said, isnt making a lot in the beginning. My cousin did it for a little bit and now he is doing pump instals on the weekends for extra cash.
