Tell me it's stupid. Remind me that any of my other knives will cut anything I want. Tell me to get a Sebenza instead. But then tell me how a Sebenza would be any different from a William Henry in not making me stop lookin at new knives anyway.

Tell me again, willya George, how it's gonter be when we got a liddle place all our own...

WHY do I want a stupid $450 folder? If I lose it, I will be pissed to beat the band.

So ZDP dis..........

arrrrrggggghhhh

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

WH's are lightly made gentlemans knives, if you want ZDP get a spyderco for $60 and use the $390 to buy a sebenza.

Oh and don't loose it.

I received a small William Henry Titan II as a gift about 2 months ago. I have taken it to work with me a few times. I open the box and start to put it in my shirt pocket but end up putting it back in the box. It is currently in my safe.
The same day I got the William Henry, my wife bought a small Sebenza. She told me to put it up until Christmas. I can't wait to start carrying the Sebenza. I am still trying to talk myself into carrying the W H.
I know everyone has different opinions on knives. These 2 are the knives that I have been lusting over. To me, they are the ultimate. Having said that, I still want other knives. So, I don't think the purchase of either will end your knife buying. Good luck deciding which to get. They are both excelent choices.

I feel your pain. I have the same dilema. WH, Sebenza, Custom. It's a never-ending conflict in my mind. We don't NEED any more knives. We don't NEED to spend so much money. We do need to feed our disease, though. There is no 'One Knife' for us out there.

The way I look at it, I'm going to live for a good long time more, I hope. I might as well start getting things I like. I've stopped selling, or trading away things I like. I am starting to actually save money up! That's never happened. I usually take a wind-fall and spend it all at once, even if it's just a $100. Now, I'm taking a more planned approach. I will have ONE OF EACH!

It may take a while, but I know the quest will be exciting, and will never end. That is what makes an obsession worth while. It will have times of prolonged waiting follow by blissful gratification. That's something I can live with.

Go ahead and get the WH. Then save up for the Sebenza. Then, something else... Think of it as an investment. Not for the Monetary reward later, but for the time when you can look back and see all that you have accumulated, and know that it will make your children as happy as it has made you. ( Okay, there's more to life than knives, but you get my point.:D)

Seriously, I'm going to side with MVF ... this is not the place to get to get talked out of something =P

Nonetheless, I'm going to try, being solidly in the "Sebenzas are Overpriced" camp.

As mentioned before, you can get ZDP at Spyderco for much cheaper.

Mcusta makes Damascus layered knives at less than half the price.
Spyderco makes gents' knives with beautiful inlay for less than half the price.
Moki MANUFACTURES some of WH's knives and you can buy them under the Moki name, again, for less than half the price, and there are a number of Seki City manufacturers who'll do the same thing.

That's my help, and now I'll make way for the rest of the posts that will encourage you to part with your hard earned dollars ....

Oh! And if something happens to your car or if there's an unexpected medical emergency that comes up, you won't have to sell it off at 2/3rds of the price to make ends meet. :D

I have owned neither but handled both extensively and will buy one of them in the next month or so. Based on conversations with users of both and my fondling of the knives I have concluded that I would be very fearful of doing some things a WH that I would never give a second thought to doing with a Sebenza.

I don't think that I want to carry an EDC that I can't use for whatever I might encounter. This is not to say that the WH is not up to the task, it is just not up to the task in my mind. So for me it will be a Sebbie.

Why, because I am addicted to them, been carrying a WH B09 with ironwood handles for at least 4 or 5 years now, love it, does all the office duties I need to use it on. But, as my wife says when she sees another new knife in my collection, "The difference between men and boys are the price of their toys":D:D:D

Hmm...get yourself Sebenza!

Or get yourself a nice Spyderco and satisfy your urge for a new knife for a lower price.

I know that I will be attacked for this but I find the WH to more Sheeple (read office personnel) friendly than the Seb. I have an older WH that is a great for the office. I have abused it a little and it has never failed. That said I also have limited Seb on order, which will also work nicly at work. Steven

Well here it goes. I have both and use both quiet often. If you want a knife you can cut small branches with, open mail, cutt tags, packages or small boxes with the WH is good for it. Now the Seb is good for about anything cutting banches, mail, boxes, tags, plastic packages, cords, carving, just about anything you can cutt. With that being said the Seb warrenty kicks ass. If you nick it or scatch it send it back and they well fix it and have it back in two weeks looking knew again. I definitly agree with Daniel i have the same addiction and used to wipe all my money out on knives, but if you learn that happy medium than you can save and get one at a time and enjoy it along the way.

Different knives for different occasions. If you can't get yourself to carry the WH, just take it when you go out to dinner (and use it on the steak! :D ) like I do with my Mnandi. But the Sebenza goes everywhere, even out in the woods.

I know Lavan is familiar with Mcusta.

But I like the idea of checking out some of the other Japanese manufacturers for substantially equal quality.

That was a really sweet "Of Mice and Men" reference. Dont buy the WH because a Sebbie is so much sweeter.

Every time I think of ANY knife, I check my pocket and there's the Native.

Always.

Even when I try to ROTATE!

Sal Glesser is EVIL!!!

Esav, I am again lookin at Mcustas. Just not an all metal one again.

:D:foot::eek::(;):yawn::D:D

Lavan,
Anyone like you, especially YOU desrves to spend that much...
You owe it to yourself...

Why would we want to talk you out of getting that $450.00 WH knife when we know that you really want it. That would be cruel, and folks around here don't have a cruel bone in their bodies.
