Talk to me about Scotch-brite belts?

Those who use scotch-brite belts: What brand and "coarseness" do you prefer?

Any pics of your finishes? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a belt or two, but I'd like to hear a little more about them first.

I have three 3M Scotchbrite belts. Grey, maroon and green. I only use the green based on what other folks around here said some while back. It works well. Got the belt from Trugrit. After heat treat I do my finishing grinding with Gators up to 220. Then hit it with the green belt. Here's the result. This is A2 at 61RC Ironwood on the handle.

I apologize for not having pics handy at the moment. I have the green one as well, I believe it is the "fine" finish. I love it. Helps to blend scratch lines. I have to use some caution on my machine with those belts...as they can round off a nice crisp plunge line if you're not careful. And they can put scratches onto a finish as well...with too much pressure. I like to spray a touch of WD40 on the belt.
 
Stu is right for sure..I always liked them but that can wash out a crisp plunge line fast if your not careful...
 
I have a fine and coarse belt. I used to use the fine belt after finishing bevels at 30A but ive switched to using a cork belt now and it works much, much better.

I still use the coarse belt for blending out 40 grit scratches, fixing scratches at the plunge line that trizact belts can sometimes leave, and for blending convex grinds. I think the coarse belt is a great tool and can help cover up mistakes.
 
I flat or convex grind the bulk of my blades with no plunge line. I use the Scotch-Brite belts to put a satin finish on. It is fast and the belts last forever ( almost). These are mainly working knives and kitchen blades, so a fine polished finish is not needed.
