So I've been looking real hard at the southfork and just can't make up my mind . I'd like to use it for fishing and maybe hunting so any input would be great. Thanks to all in advance.

I think I'm sold . I was looking at catcherman but I just didn't think it would meet all my needs but I still want it cuz well it's a cool older spyderco and I got a spyderco addiction. I still need a pm2 and something in h1.

Bought one and love it in the kitchen. No doubt it will be for deer and other task. The handle is a touch slim and slick.

The handle is a touch slim and slick.

I like the slim handles, it's actually my favorite handle out of all the kives I own. This is subjective though since everyone's hands are different. The g-10 was a bit slick for my taste out of the box, so I followed Phil's suggestion below. This improved the grippiness without changing the look much at all, maybe a slightly more matte finish.

As an option for a bit more grab on the G10, tape off the handle to blade joint and sand the handle with some 320 or 220 grit wet/dry paper. Use water or Windex to keep paper from loading. This will bring up the glass fibers in the G10 and make it pretty sticky in the hand. Phil

This is from my "Talk up the South Fork" thread on the Spyderco forum. There is some very good info there, but it also gets a bit off topic...

Southfork is amazing you will not regret it. Im not into fixed blades and usually trade or sell them if theyre not perfect but the southfork is the one ive kept.
