Yesterday. His voice is hoarse but he seems pretty good. One hip looks promising but he's not sure how much the other will recover. They have him on a new regime of anti cancer drugs- the mop-up ones, he says. I'm hoping he's reaching the finale of this thing and complete health, or nearly so, returns. Even if he has to hobble around a little bit.

Thanks for the update on Pappy, munk.

Wish we would get one on Uncle Bill too!

I'm glad to see others still have a passion for what's right being done.

Thanks for the update. We need to keep all the good guys around as long as we can. I'm never sure what the ratios are.

LionsRoar;

Best man I ever knew left this Earth with several people hating him and a State investigatory agency saying bad things about him. The Agency was wrong, but the point is we are all flawed, and have good moments and bad. So the ratio is always changing. WE do the best we can. Some probably do better than others. Some got more water when they were growing up. Some have more rings inside their bark. Some bloomed and bloomed and the first hot Sun shriveled them to nothing.

Thanks for the update and insightful words, Munk. Prayers going out from the toe of Indiana.

Bill, I've been meaning to ask you; don't all of us get old and sick? Isn't that pretty much what we have to pass through?
Yvsa?

I just don't want to believe the Universe has made a special effort on my part- to trash my disks and whatever else goes downhill. Pappy stopped smoking long ago but still pays today.

I like to believe all of us are in good company.

What people call death is just a continuation of life. Some of us get old and sick before we're able to reach that state.
Others just get old and wear out before reaching the same places.
Some people change planes, die, with a great deal of kicking and screaming while others die peaceably in their sleep.
Karma?
Good as reason as any methinks.
A person only -Has- to do two things in this life. We have to die and we have to live until we die.
Everything else is just consequences.;)

One thing I've noticed over the years is that most Xtians are very afraid to walk west while most people in other religions are not afraid and even welcome the transitition.
I'm ready anytime, it would many days be a relief.:D

From a signature line seen recently:

" The problem with Communism is the communists.
" The problem with Christianity is the christians. "

Another memorable line from long back:

" If the Jews and the Mohammedans would just act like Christians... "

And finally a news report from yesterday that in some African Nation ( not sure which ) the Christian Militia had slaughtered some 400 people.

As Pogo said: " We have met the enemy and they are us. "

Hi Guys
Think it was in Indonesia, as areprisal for similar acts committed in the name of Islam. I know don't start, both acts are deplorable and contrary to common interpretations of both faiths. Its not so very far from New Zealand and the Aussies watch Indonesia with some concern. More soldiers in there army than in most large cities in Aus.
Regards
Phil

PS my father, a very devout Christian, died recently, he faced his end with no fear or hesitation and embraced death when it came.
