I had a chance to handle a Tachyon last Thursday and it is extremely well made. The blade length criticism is personal preference but a valid criticism. Some people refuse to believe that extraordinary things can be done with extremely small knives. Some knives will never make them happy...simple as that.
The reason I don't like small Balisongs is because I can't flip the bastids! They are then not enjoyable to me.
Having said THAT, the Tachyon was QUITE the SURPRISE! The Tachyon flips very well, it is so damned quiet that it makes an eerily quiet SWAT Balisong sound like a Circus coming to town.
The BM #10 and all similar sized Balisongs are almost perfectly useless to me. I can latch drop them and I can basically flip them but they feel so alien to me and uncomfortable, I just don't like them.
Just from flipping the Tachyon for all of about 10 minutes, it is quite apparent that this is totally different and there is enough handle length to make it far better for flipping than the smaller PC and BMs.
