Thought I'd share the Caper Companion.
Same small to med design with the blade right at 3.5".
Feels good and will make a nice utility knife I think.

That looks like a dandy utility knife one could use often in a day around camp, or the house.

How much does a knife such as that cost??

Its ground from 0-1 steel.
I'll send you a PM on the cost and wait time :)

Couldnt send the PM........................

Nice knife, I generally like more neutral handles, the sharp index finger apex for example would look to be problematic in an icepick grip, used for point work in carving, or boning for example. Is this edge quenched with an annealed spine?

I'm surprised how far the edge is dropped down. Is there an advantage to this? I'm thinking of working in body cavities, and am usually concerned about getting hung up inside by corners like that.

The spine never got to critical so it remains soft and I quench the entire blade.

I like a dropped point but dont really know how she would work inside a cavity.................

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. It wasn't the point, rather, the relationship of the edge to where the fingers would be when gripping the knife. Now that I've gone back and re-read all the posts, you did indeed say it was a utility knife. I was thinking more along the lines of skinning/field dressing. My fault.

The fit and finish look beautiful. It's a very aesthetically pleasing design. You'd have to make me 2, one for the proverbial safe...

the edge is dropped down so you can get more use out of it. I like peeling in the kitchen and wanted this to be a knife that didnt cramp your hands when peeling cucumbers................that lets you in on my thinking when I was drawing this out................:)
