May seem like a dumb question to all you Busse fans, but I was wondering what the talon hole is for?

willadams,
Welcome to the Busse forum, glad you stopped by :D:D

The talon hole was originally to attach a "D" knuckle guard and has become a trademark of Busse Combat Knives. It can also be used to attach to a stick to use as a spear or other implement. It works great with some of the Custom pin-lock leather sheaths. Now it is primarily a design feature.

I hope you stick around and join in some of our discussions. :D

Once again Eric beats me to the punch and nails the factoid de jour.

Eric's got it covered!

Here's a pic of a paracord D-Guard:

I believe there was also a metal D-guard that could be attached or "bolted" on using the talon holes. I've never seen one of these so it may just be a rumor.;):D

Anyone else know more about these?

Thanks for that guys.

We don't see or hear much about Busse in the UK, do they still do the basic range? and is there a model available around the 4" mark?

Cheers for that.

Euro 4 looks spot on! but I don't speak german, any info on this knife on an English site?

Here are the specs:
overall length: 24 cm
blade length 12 cm/ 10cm cutting edge
blade thickness 6 mm / 1/4 inch
hardness 58 - 60 HRC
handle material brown or green canvas micarta
weight 220 g
The text says:
The Euro 4 is a good choice for hunting and for camp chores as the preparation of kindling. And it is a knive prefered by women.

So I have a female side after all :D
The E4 is a real good EDC. Just send Dirk a mail, he speaks english verry well.

Here in the USA, the Basics line has been discontinued :( and the Euro #4 was never available here.:( :(

It's just a matter of time before Jerry responds to the pressure of the faithful and revives the Basics line or replaces it with a suitable alternative.

Not that I do not really, really like the Combat Grade knives, but I do love the Resciprene-C handles and like the the affordable utiltity of the beater, I mean user, models! I cannot believe that I am alone.

Hmmm....

I just looked at the BusseCombat Germany site.

I am I correct in understanding that the Aftershock Bolo, Mr Mojo, Basics 3 and 4 and 6, Badger Attack, Combat 4 and Caretaker are still available on the European Market? So, if I happen to be in Europe I can pick these up? Or I can have friends or relatives in Europe buy 'em and send 'em to me?

Would the knives available on the European market also be available to me if I'm in Asia or Australia or South America or Africa for a while?

What are those prices, converted into USA dollars? Should I expect any problems transporting them, in terms of customs, or odd international laws, or mail delivery weirdness?

Also, is Busse Combat currently producing anything with Resiprene C? Does this mean that this material would be available for handles on a custom knife?

As I know, there are maybe single knives of the basic lines left. Best you send Dirk a mail whith your questions. I think only the Euro lines are exclusivly for us:rolleyes:
Don't be jealous, you have all that cool variants available.
