I am using this thread to ask whether it is still possible to get the replacement sheath for Talon. I tried to fix mine but it still does not hold the knife securely. I saw the new sheath and it is definitely an improvement! I sent an e-mail to Camillus (and 2 e-mails directly to Will Fennell) to see if the change is possible but did not receive any reply....

David,
The most recent one went out on the 8th of this month. We sent one out some time ago, and it was returned to us, "undeliverable". I don't have the info handy, but that was a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, I didnm't learn abou this until I got your most recent email, and requested a second sheath sent[shipping dept didn't notify me]. Anyway, it looks like they didn't fill out the address correctly. I forwarded your email to me, and they used the info provided this time. Sorry for the trouble, and please let me know when it gets "across the pond" to you.

Replacement sheath for the Talon? I've been away from this forum too long. What's this about?

Toothed,
No big deal. Some of the early TALON's had some sheath problems. The deminsons between some of the sheaths and the handle thickness we a small amount undersize. With kydex, it only takes a few thou's off and you have a loose knife. Some folks modified their own sheaths by heating them up, some by adding an extra screw themselves. We fixed others by replacing them at the factory. We are still talking about a small number of sheaths/knives, very small.

We still offer to anyone that purchased a TALON, that we will replace the sheath without any questions asked. We know that folks paid alot of $$$$$ for this premium knife, and we don't want folks scared to carry and use them for fear of loosing them in a loose sheath.

I think we have had request to replace 12-13 sheaths. We will continue to offer this to folks if there seems to be a problem. We feel we have it fixed on our end now....

Thanks for the interest!

Will,

Thank you for the information - and sending the sheath too! I will let you know when it arrives and will post here as well.

Will, thanks for refreshing my memory. I now recall the situation.
No problem here.

My talon's sheath is not overly tight, but then, I don't want it to be that tight anyway. I wouldn't be comfortable carrying it in a neck sheath for fear that it may fall out, but then, again, I won't carry my talon that way because it's too heavy and, hey, that's why they made the mini-talon (which I also own for that type of carry).

Nice to know that Camillus stands by their products. It reassures me that I made the right decision to "...pay alot of $$$$$ for this premium knife..." ;) P.S. I love the Talon.

The sheath is here!! Thank you. Not only Camillus sent new sheath (which is really much better than the first one) but also another TekLok device. Thank you once again :).
