Besides the Camillus Talon and mini-Talon, both Rob Simonich designs, what other makers are currently using Talonite in their knives? Doing a google search turns up the Talon pair from Camillus and I've seen references to older Simonich knives in Talonite which are no longer available. Somebody else must be using Talonite, but who? TIA

Tom Mayo has make knives with it, as has Darrel Ralph. I dont know who is currently using it though.

Talonite seems to have "cooled off." I really like the stuff. I can just visualize an AFCK in talonite! From what I have read, the significant advantage to talonite is that it is "rust proof." Personally, I have no other blade that works better on cutting up cardboard boxes.

since rob simonich's untimely death, tom mayo is one of the leading makers of haynes alloy (talonite/stellite) knives. i have a "few" made by him. tom primarily uses stellite now (little bit more carbon it stellite verses talonite)

neil blackwood and kit carson also make blades from this material

it's still my favorite

I made my first knife in Talonite a couple of weeks ago. I love the stuff!
The only draw back I see is the price of Talonite, it just went up 50%.

I think one problem is that the main manufacturer of Talonite is not doing it in the right sizes for knives, IIRC.
