Talonite?

Talonite is a cobalt alloy which is similar to the old stellite.Expensive ,much better edge retention than steel not tooo good for hollow ground edges.

Nathan, can't remember the source but the comment was that too thin and acute an edge is a bit brittle.

If I am not mistaken there are some of the top name makers who use it and they Hollow grind, makers that come to mind,Neil Blackwood
and Greg Lightfoot just to name a few.I don't understand why the edge would be to brittle from a hollow grind,if that were the case
any steel could be put in that category if HT wrong ???????
I have read and have first hand experience with a thin edge on a blade,a thin edge will out cut a thick edge.Just my thoughts
