What do you think? I would love to see a fixed Talwar with the exact dimensions as the XL folder (maybe a little thicker blade), including the extended handle. In CTS-XHP; under 7 inches in blade length; some may question the use of stainless, but a good stainless is ideal, even preferred, for this blade length, IMO.

Also, I see the ten-inch blade cimitar style butcher knives and always wonder why nobody has done a fixed blade camp-style knife in that style. 1/4 inch carbon steel (3V would be awesome...it's one of my favorites...but 01 would be okay, too) and contoured slab handles of Griv-Ex, Micarta, G10, or even Kirinite (it's attractive and diverse; it's nice to see color sometimes)...AWESOME.

Just some ideas. What do you all think? :eagerness:

I love the talwar and persian personally. Doesn't becker make a fixed blade similar to what your wanting ?

I like Talwars. Wife is Indian, maybe that's just an excuse for me to get some more steel.
The Becker 15 and 5 are a bit Talwarish but they are discontinued. They are exvellent camp knifes but the CS Talwar is a better slicer in my opinion. Slicing is what Talwars are for.
Is there a reason the CS spine us straight and not curved inward? It's probably more stable but looks less traditional.

Talwar fixed 5-7", XHP, 1.50-1.75" width/.18-.22" thick blade. Satin and DLC option. Grippy OD green (Camo even better) G10. Under $125. Sign me up for two

My guess is for better edc cutting. The emerson persian is not good for everyday cutting task in my opinion. The flat spine gives it more of a drop point performance and look where the emerson is the trailing point.

Don't get me wrong the Persian is probably the best knife as far as what it's designed for.

Not really. The Magnum camp knife is more subtle in its curves. Great knife, but just misses the point (pun intended! HA! HA!...ummmm...Ha.) Look up the Cimitar knives. Would they not make a fantastic camp knife with a heavier, more resiliant blade?

I own the 2 knives I posted about. The talwar is a good cutter and that shape does make a good knife for regular cutting .

The persian does not,but then again it wasn't designed for edc cutting

A fixed Talwar would be a definite buy for me. I love the shape, so did my nephew. He begged my 4" of me and I didn't replace it, I already have too many folders that I EDC that do the same thing. I thought about the 5.5" version but couldn't convince myself that it would be tougher than my Large G10 Espada that has steel liners. The one thing that I could convince myself that I "need" is a 6.5" to 7.5" fixed blade, that Talwar shape would be great. I've been thinking of either the Warcraft or Leatherneck along with a couple others from other companies. D2, 3V, or even O1 with a .20-.25" thick blade would be perfect.
