Hello folks can anyone around here that has purchased the new Talwar 5-1/2" bladed folder give me any info on it. I've seen the video but just curious as to the overall fitment. Mine had the worst lock stick I have ever experienced with any folder.. After a bit of sanding and polishing it is now flawless.

My was actually flawless and seemed to have better fit and finish than the previous run.

I’ve been through 2 old ones and 3 new. One of the old ones had lock stick (maybe a 2013 model) and one new one (plain edge, 2021) had lock stick. The old one took longer to break in and the problem was more pronounced. Both became incredibly smooth just from opening and closing, waving them, etcThanks folks I guess it might be the luck of the draw at these times. I think I'll still try one out eventually older or new not sure just yet.
Neither with the lock-stick problem were ever disassembled; they just smoothed out but I know people have sanded the lockbar or tang as mentioned above. I don’t have experience with tolerances so I left mine to naturally wear in. I ended up keeping a serrated one from 2021 so I only have 1 now. Love it though.

Just to clear something up. In my opinion the lock issue on mine would have been very difficult to spot during a quick hands on test. The knife was crafted with very tight tolerance-- perhaps too tight. It is now perfect. I encourage anyone on the fence to buy one now, before GSM has a chance to cut some costs.
