Tamahagane or 1095 Carbon Steel Folded?

I'm in the process of listing the specs for my custom Katana (previous post answered my Hamon question) now my final question is: which material is best for a Katana blade overall? Tamahagane (traditional) or 1095 Carbon Steel (both folded)? I intend to use my Katana for training and recreational use (so I do intend to cut things) and would like it to last a long time but still retain its beautiful look (symbolized by all Katanas). Thanks for your insight, after this I got all the info I need!
