Does anyone know about the material applied to the inner part of kydex sheaths in order to make them stop scratching the blade. I know it doe sexist but don´t know how to use it or where to get it an those damn scratches really annoy me.
Thanks in advance.

I really have no info for you, you may want to do a search on kydex, I just couldn’t pass up the chance to ask; What is a “Doe Sexist” and where do I sign up?

Sorry for the poor English but where didi you found anything about "Doe sexist" over here?
Or did I miss something?

i started lining my kydex and concelaex with an adhesive backed veluor after experimenting a bit. i've had terrific results. it won't melt or peel off in the oven, even after the kydex has tripled in thickness (got watching a good story on HardCopy).
No scratches - No noise
i call it the "Q.T." (quiet tec) sheath.
nice not having a mirror polished blade scratched after one draw!
Mcmaster-Carr has it.

What about long time wear?
Does it dry quickly or stay wet long?

Some Swedish Chrismas traditions:

1. At 3 o'clock on Christmas Eve (Dec 25:th is hardly a
special day here) almost every one watches one hour of Disney
cartoons on the public service TV network, even though it's
been practically no changes in the content the last four
decades. The "highlight" is when the original Swedish
presenter sings along with Benjamin Cricket at the end.

2. Coca Cola usually has around 60% of the market in Sweden,
but around Christmas it drops to about half, as Swedes then
drink "julmust" instead.

i've had a matte neck knife sheath lined for about 6 months. although i find "fuzz" on the blade, the lining doesn't seem to have any noticable wear. it still "grabs" (matte finishes "grab" the lining) as it always has. has had hundreds of draws. on polished blades, the draw is smooth as glass, with no grab. there is no fuzz.

as far as moisture, i haven't inserted a soaked blade into a sheath, or exposed a sheath to water. (i try to avoid this with all my sheaths(kydex, lined, leather, etc.) i did put lining on a piece of kydex and soak it. the "pile" or "velvet" of the lining came off, but the lining left behind was leather like, almost sueade(sp)like. it had no tendancy to peel away from the kydex. if left alone, it dries quickly. since my sheaths don't depend on the lining to hold the blade in place, only protect it from scratches, i don't see any problem with the resulting material left behind. i will however, be testing it after wetting to see how it holds up, and will post my results.

thanks for the input.

i have only just started to use kydex for my sheaths, but i found that if i fine the trouble spots that will be touching the blade too snuggly... i get some 2000 grit wet'n'dry and shave off that rought bit.

i dont line it with anything and all my mirror polishes have been kept nice and bright

you might want to try to buff the inside of the sheath a little ... as long as you keep the inside of the sheath smooth enough, it wont have anything to scratch the blade.
