Ok, I need some help. Been coming around for over a year, and I have no idea what Snark threads are. Somebody please explain it.

I read the first couple of pages for a few...still don't get it. "In on one"??? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills (Ya, I stole that from a movie).

A little background...The Wife and I are a bit weird. We don't watch television if it has commercials, we don't read newspapers, we don't do news on them internets...

So I'm often out of the loop when it comes to pop culture.

Snarks threads are awfully popular around here...must be fun...but my hill-billy butt doesn't get it.

The snark threads are just a general chat thread in the Becker subforum. There is not much rhyme or reason, just some occasional snide remarks, and snake sharks.

 
Ahhh..KP, you are all that is man. I feel a little better now. The shark part was news to me.

Earlier today, I felt that my manhood was in question because I didn't get it.

In other news...maybe I need to pick up a Becker. I like to chop stuff once or twice a year.

The Becker Snark threads are all over the place. The current thread has had references to the flu and other illnesses (and home remedies), custom made trophy knives, traditional folding knives, visualizing bears and things in rocks, dogs barfing, dogs farting, camping in the rain, references to GAWs in other forums, just to name a few. Some topics arise in nearly every thread - guns, beer, bottle openers, knife moding, speculation about future Becker knives, etc.

Come on in and lurk awhile to get a feel of what's going on. Eventually you will sucked in, kinda like the Tidy Bowl Man on his raft.

And the "in on 1" thing is just a reference to the fact that they got their comment in on the first page of the snark thread - kind of a feather in the cap sort of thing. That reminds me, I'm in on 1 of this thread (w00t w00t!).

Allow me to shine some light upon the Snark if you will...
Many years ago, in the ancient times, snakes and sharks used to fight each other with sharp edged tools.
Most of the time these fights would just end with both snake and shark appologizing to each other.
They'd whisper sweet nothings into each others ear and then make sweet love.
That's how the Snark was born.
