Tang Construction on Perrin?

Does any one know how the tang of the Perrin FB is shaped?

I am wondering if it would be feasable to replace the handle material with somthing a little less "plastic".
Any thoughts would be appriciated. thanks in advance.

Do a search. It was pictured here at least once. I believe its about 1" wide and extends about 3/4 of the way through the handle. You could attach a variety of handles to it.

wish I could find the post, but Fred was quite emphatic about the quality of the tang/handle construction.

You might have a hard time getting it off; IIRC the handle is injection molded around the tang, which is notched. It might be easier to replace the inserts? This would add a little color...
