Tang on Victorinox paring knife?

I bought one a while ago, and love it, but I'm getting tired of the black plastic handle. Anyone know what sort of tang it has? I'm thinking of rehandling it, but would like to make sure that it actually *has* a tang before cutting the handle off.

The tang is under 1 ½”.

BTW, Victorinox/ Forschner make a similar knife with Rosewood handles -
