Tang Stamp Cracking?

I've heard of damage caused to a knife's blade due to stamping the tang but don't recall ever seeing it before. Is this blade cracking caused by stamping the tang or something else? Do you have any examples of damage caused by stamping?

This is a vintage Geo. Schrade Camper model. Notice cracking of the main blade at the tang:

Thank you for looking.

There are cases of Camillus-era Beckers, especially the BK-9 breaking from micro-fractures and other flaws caused by stamping.

It sure looks that way.

There is a reason most knife makers have stop stamping blades.

So does this mean my entire Victorinox collection is at risk of cracking apart at the tang?

Every knife has a "RISK" of cracking.

Stamping blades is just one factor that may enter the picture.

I wouldn't worry about it.

The pictured knife is from WWII era and made during the early days of the use of stainless steel in pocket knives. It is odd that it would leave the factory like that and makes me think that it was collected for the cracks. I collect Geo. Schrade folders from that time and I've not seen another cracked tang or cracked anywhere Geo. Schrade folder. It looks like the stamping tool struck particularly deep on the "stainless" edge of the stamp (notice how the abbreviation "B PT CONN" are shallow into the tang while the word "Stainless" is deeply set into the tang).

I was bidding on this one until my bid was cancelled after I politely suggested to the seller that twin main blade cracks is perhaps something that should be included in the description if they want happy campers post sale. My big mouth... An interesting antique hobo nevertheless even with the cracks. I already have a pristine The Camper, however, so I would have bought it for the cracks and parts.

I was hoping for a few photos of cracked tangs but I suppose those knives get destroyed/scraped before they meet an enthusiast with a camera and forum affiliation.
