I've owned a few Bucks thru the years including a 4 dot I got in mid 80's that I just love. I have been condidering getting some of these special builds/customs that are being offered, got one of the BG42 and have been looking at others. I have looked at a lot of stock an the other builds online and have seen a wide array of tang stamps, from stamps to etched and maybe both [I believe I saw this?]. Is there a reason for this, cost, steel types? I just would like to know on this. Thanks a bunch

Some of the newer premium steels tend to be etched rather than stamped. I think it relates to the stamping can cause micro fracturing in the hardened steels.

The tang marking on this 110 with BG-42 steel is etched, not stamped.
