Tangs, shields, and etches?

I know Boker is a diverse company with multiple countries manufacturing various lines for them.

My question is about the slipjoint pocketknives marked from Germany.

Some have a round shield with a tree and a small trademark symbol, others have the tree and writing underneath that either says treebrand or boker ( i can't tell from just photos). Still others have a a shield shaped like a police badge with a tree inside with horizontal lines running through the shield.

Etches, Some say king kutter, some say tree brand classic with model #, and others say Treebrand only.

Tangs: Some have a tree and say boker soligen germany, others have no tree and say h. boker @ co. soligen germany. I have seen photos of tangs that looked different still but could not read them.

I am confused, does all of this change yearly like case and buck. Is it different price points and if so are they really made in germany or sub contracted somewhere else?

Any anyformation that gives me perspective about all the different shields, tangs and etches would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Goins Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings explains a lot, but there are so many tang stamps, emblems and etches that it is confusing. I have not found a source that covers all of it.

Dr. Pepper, this is not that difficult!
First, all folders are manufactured in Solingen, Germany. The knives from Boker Arbolito (Argentina) are, until today, only fixed blades!

Regarding the different stamps, etchings or emblems, we do different ways, for the markets, we are producing the knives for. And, certainly in the the past, the stamps change a lil bit. For example H. Boker & Co. was the old company's name, that is now changed into Heinr. Böker Baumwerk GmbH.

And we are also producing knives for other companies, then the company's name and "Boker" can be found on the knife (like the knives that we make for a clothing company)

If there are any other questions, please feel free to post or send me a PM.

Thanks Marketing for the information and to gundoger for using your first post to respond to my question.

I guess a continuation of my question is if there is a dating system on Boker cutlery?

Marketing, the various markets that you spoke of, are they meant to represent different destinations, materials, or quality levels or all?
