I had some time to kill last night so figured I do something I wanted to do. Only took about 45 mins start to finish.
1st took the liner out, then tapped the blade up w/blue painters tape. The S-O liners seem to always come warped and NEVER straight so the next thing is take the trusty hair dryer on high heat high fan and warm the liner. When it get pliable then insert the blade and allow to cool(stick it in the frig if you want).
With the blade inserted into the liner look at where the scales are and see where you need to remove material.
After using a cut off wheel then I get out a sanding bit and smooth the liner throat out to the shape I want. The cut off wheel just removes the bulk way faster. One thing to remember if your new at this don't take off to much cause you might not have enough to secure back in the sheath.
Next you will need to remove a little for the Talon Hole to recess into.
Now she is taking shape!!!
In this pic you see where the tip is in relation to the factory hole for the retention screw. What I do is take a 1/4" drill bit and drill a hole between the factory hole and the tip edge of the liner.
Take your tape of the blade, insertinto the liner and then insert the liner back into the sheath lining up the new 1/4" drilled hole and resecure the liner to the sheath via the factory screw.
DONE!!! Hope you enjoyed this and for some newbies you see how to fit up a 6.25" blade into a 6" sheath.
Thanks for looking...
