What is the consensus on the Tank Buster:

I voted .250 w/o choil (as it is the only TB I own - only Busse I now own; but a Smooth Bolt SJTAC saber ground and a BOSS Street {from Busse} will be here soon :D). Money was very tight last year and I had to rid myself of nearly ALL my knives! All I had left was a Strider SMF, Fallkniven A2, a Spyderco CE Chinook and a few cheaper Spyderco, BM, Kershaw and etcetera knives!

Anyhow, I voted .250” w/o choil; first I like a thick knife. Second, I like the extra length/cutting-edge. Third, I, personally, like the look of it w/o a choil better. Fifth, I know where the blade ends/begins. Sixth, I don’t think it is necessary on this particular model as I’m not really going to do much acute cutting with a ¼” blade. And there are a host of other reasons why a ¼” Tank Buster will always have a home with me.

IMHO, the TB is one of the nicest medium sized designs that Jerry and Co. has come out with! I like everything about it – no complaints what-so-ever! All of the options which were made available was a dream come true! Thanks and keep up the great work!

p.s. - I could find only a little with a search – didn’t see any polls.

i really like mine. it's one of my favorite all around blades. a 3/16" version would have been interesting as a combat knife

.25" w/o choil. THis is a sleeper. Its a perfect example of why you need to hold a knife before passing judgement too. I didnt buy a TB originally:( Yeah, its the first I remembered passing on. Anyway, I picked this one up at KC and it totally changed my mind. I like it alot and its a great all arounder thats extremely functional in this configuration. I would have kept this one if it had Black paper.

No choil. It's the only feature that even allows it to compete with the SFNO & ASH-1. I believe they're both better all around mid-sized blades but the TB sans choil is a sweet blade. YMMV

I had both versions

Kept the one with the choil

EXCELLENT KNIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
