Tankbuster Handles

If I'm thinking correctly, the closest thing to the TankBuster's handles is the Batac's? Would someone have Batac's with Standard & Magnum handles that might be willing to post a comparison pic of them side by side? Preferably of the overhead (spine) pic.

And if so, how would you rate the standard vs the magnum? Would it be as big of a difference as on the ASH or SFNO between the two?

Thanks in advance,

Les.

If you have big meaty hands like me the standard handles are the way to go.

If you have "normal" hands most people I have talked to like the magnums.

+1

I don't have bear hands like you , but my hands are similar.

I like standard, but that limits color options.

Les, here's a spine shot - the left one is a SJT (standard thickness handles) and the one in the middle is a BATAC with Mags. I've got fairly large hands with long fingers and the mags make all the difference. They aren't heavily sculpted like the SF or ASH Mags, they're just thicker. The standard handles are just too thin to be comfortable for me.

My dang problem is I like both. :D

So I ordered one of each.

I like mags on TAC handles. Alas my only TAC-handled knife these days is a BATAC with Snakeskin. If it wasn't a beater, I'd consider some cool 2-layer red and brown (maybe 3 layer red/brown/yellow) spacers under the handles to beef em up.

I used to have a SJTAC with standards and I didn't like the feel at all.
Once I got my mitts on a BATACSE at Blade '07 I was in love. Then I grabbed a couple BATACLEs. These are perfect for my grip!
Mags all the way:thumbup:
I also have pretty meaty hands but I just can't appreciate the standards.

Mags are much, MUCH nicer on the TAC handles, IMO. The ultra-thin grip on the regular, with the shape of the grip makes it feel like I'm holding on to a circle in my palm.

Maybe it was explained elsewhere, but on the website, only the black paper as listed with a mag option. Is that the only mag option, or are they all available as mags, and only that one listed because black paper is normally no charge?

Handles:
Black Canvas (Std)
Tan Canvas (Std)
Black Paper (Std)
Red G-10 (+$25)
Black G-10 (+$25)
Black Canvas Magnum (+$35)
Tan Canvas Magnum (+$35)
Black Paper Magnum (+$35)
Black G-10 Magnum (+$55)
Olive Drab G-10 Magnum (+$55)
Black/Tan G-10 Magnum (+$65)
Blue/Black G-10 Magnum (+$65)
Black/Orange G-10 Magnum (+$65)
Green/Black G-10 Magnum (+$65)

I took that quote from the order page. Looks like you can get black paper in standard and magnum.

I've got wide hands, and I really don't like standard scales on the Tac Handles. I don't believe that mags were an option on the SJTAC, so I ended up making my own:D On that note, anyone know what scales are on a JackHammer?

Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for.

I no longer have one, but I believe the handles on the JackHammer were mags. They looked just like the BATAC mags in the pic above.

Wondering if the mag handles will be like on an SFNO, with three distinct raised areas or like on a SJTAC which is only a bit wider than a normal model. I've had a batac that was obviously normal handles which were super skinny and the one with the camo blade I picked up at the last creek, which were super thick and felt great in the hand. or maybe there are no mag handles on a SJTAC or batac and it's just different variation in the actualy craftsmanship in the micarta cut?? anybody have any thoughts? Amy< GARTH> Jerry???

The difference in the TAC handle is base thickness only. There is no change in the exterior contour.

Standard on the left, Magnum on the right.

Ok. so I guess the thicker grip is the option instead of the raised portions like on an SFNO.. Ok.. Thanks.. I'm definately going with mags
