I am rather new here and I just like to know :-

1) Are there any specific reasons why the Tanto 1 is not listed in their website?
2) Anybody knows if there are any chances of a Tanto 2 coming along?

Greatly appreciate if someone in the know can help.

The Tanto-1 IS listed on the website, but for some reason there isn't a picture of it. Like any of the "1" specified one piece knives it's a 9'' blade. It's not one of the hot sellers and a small amount are made each year. I have one that was made in 2000 I believe (I'd have to check the card) and I seem to recall being told that only 25 or so were made that year. Not too hard to find though. It was my first one piece and I use it quite hard. With the thick tip it's pretty hard to do any damage to the things. I have some very minor chips in the edge but that's about it. Should be gone in a few sharpenings.

I don't believe a Tanto 2 will be coming along any time soon as it wouldn't be a very hot seller either. If you want a smaller tanto, CRK made a NICA one piece to go along with the NICA sebenza and I believe it was a 5 1/2'' blade (which would be the equivalent to a Tanto 2). It looks like a scaled down version of the Tanto 1. You could probably find one between posting a wanted ad here and keeping your eye on Ebay.

That about clarifies it. I am going for it.

This might sound silly but I was browsing for a custom made when my eyes fell on the Tanto 1. In my humble opinion it's the most beautiful non living thing i have ever seen. :)
 
Bennjn, you made a great choice! You'll be VERY happy with it! Plus, one of the great things about it is that at any time you can send it in to CRK and they'll refurbish it (to being like new) for $23. They've got a good thing going!

Very nice!! Once my Tanto 1 arrives, I might consider getting one of these limited editions as well!!

By the way anyone here tried ordering through knifeart.com before?
 
Jules, that's a beaut! Nice score my friend! Bennjn, that's the smaller NICA tanto I was referring to. I was obviously WRONG about the size though.
 
thanks my fellow CRK collectors :thumbup: I am very excited:D , I let a few go by over the years waiting and waiting for just the right one! and it's coming! very happy just like a kid in a candy store.:D
