Tanto #2 knife project pics

These are the last ones! Sorry about posting so many pics, but I thought folks may be interested...this really isn't a tanto, but Madpoet sent it about a month after Tanto #1 came to me with a bend from heat-treatment. Madpoet ground the knife from memory, and some of his other projects at the time came through in the design. I LOVE this knife! YOu'll see it has a slight amount of recurve with a more pronounced dropped point. It is flat ground from D-2 of 5/32" thickness. I did the finish work, using linen Micarta handle scales (thanks, Kit!) and stainless steel pins and lanyard liner tubing. The etching says "Phoenix" in Japanese in honr of my almost-2-year-old Golden Retriever that died a little over a month ago from metastisized bone cancer. God bless her soul...

This picture shows the cool fileworked "A" maker's mark that Madpoet did for me. This was a complete surprise when I opened the box and it made me quite pleased!
