I've always been an admirer of Japanese cutlery, especially their katana. This is my 2nd tanto/kwaiken and hamon to date. While not NEAR the Tendick/Gregory/Vigil/Hartsfeild/insert inspiring maker's name here level of awesomeness, I am quite proud of it. Ben, if you're reading this, that last Waki you made was OFF THE HOOK!!!! I can hear my Grandaddy, "Got dern, padna, you didn't make that!" Signor Aldo Bruno's W2 tool steel, genuine ivory same' ray skin, diamond ito wrap, and crowned spine. Hybrid polish was done with vinegar and lemon juice. The edge is a "zero" edge, the apex formed by the intersection of the primary bevels, approximately 7.8° inclusive. Turks head knot...which took me a few times to do. Who thinks up these knots? Some Turkish fellow, I guess. Whoever it was, they must have had the patience of a statue. This knife is posted for sale in the "Fixed Blades" sub forum.
明けましておめでとうございます (Happy New Year!) well, that's what google says it is translated anyway. Like I would know. Sayonara!
